Shipping from Alabama

Please be assured that warehouse orders will ship out within five days of purchase. We determine the most efficient shipping carrier for your order. The carriers that may be used are: U.S. Postal Service (USPS), United Parcel Service (UPS), Fed EX, R&L Logistics, CC Transportation, Zenith or Rockford Logistics.  If you're trying to estimate when a package will be delivered, please note the following:

Credit card authorization and verification must be received prior to processing. Federal Express and UPS deliveries occur Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. If you require express or 2 day shipping, please contact us for charges.  

Shipping from Indonesia

All container orders from our factory in Indonesia are shipped FOB Semarang, Indonesia directly to your door. Beyond Borders will handle all customs clearance and entry, and the shipping company will bill the client directly for the container freight. Shipping times varies based on the store location. On average, shipping time to the US ranges from 35-50 days.

Production and Shipping Time

Beyond Borders products are handcrafted, hand-carved and produced in our factory in Central Java, Indonesia. The production time varies based on the factory capacity and time of order, but orders generally take approximately 12-15 weeks for production. Shipping time to the USA also varies based on shipping location, but averages approximately 45 days from port to delivery. Production times are not guaranteed, and delays may occur due to Indonesian holidays, events or other unforeseen international events. Typically, orders will be received within 4-6 months of placing the order, but this is not guaranteed. Orders cannot be cancelled due to reasonable production delays.

Product Information

Each and every item from Beyond Borders Imports, LLC is hand-crafted from start to finish. Many traditional "Old World" methods are used in the construction. Beyond Borders Imports does not mass-produce product, nor do we use veneers or particle board. Our solid wood products are constantly responding to their environment; therefore, the furniture has a subtle distressed look. Some splitting, cracking, chipping and glazing may occur. Most who see our product think the “perfectly imperfect” nature of the wood and finishing methods create an antique, but spirited, look that is part of the charm and appeal of the product. Our products are made from materials taken from nature, as nature provides them... unique, beautiful, and “perfectly imperfect”. For items offered in our Java Catalog, some mahogany and teak plywood may be used on the back side or bottom of the drawers. This is not wood substitute or filler, but instead the same quality wood used in the rest of the piece. With our individual workmanship and handcrafted techniques, there may be slight differences in dimensions, color, or finish. All hardwood furniture is recommended to be stored in climate controlled environments. Extreme cold or heat exposure to solid woods can cause warping, cracking, and separation of wood planks. In addition, it recommended hardwood furniture be kept with a relative humidity between 50-55%. 

Damage Claims

All damage claims regarding mildew, water damage, or breakage due to customs loading/unloading should be filed with the shipping company. Check with the shipping agent for restrictions and procedures on filing these claims. We recommend that you add insurance to your shipment; our shipping agents can handle the insurance policy for you.

All damage claims or quality defects must be reported within 10 days of receiving the merchandise. Failure of Buyer to give such notice within such period shall constitute an unqualified acceptance of the goods delivered pursuant to this agreement and a waiver by Buyer of all claims with respect thereto. The Seller and Buyer agree that notwithstanding the form ( e.g. contract, tort, or otherwise) in which any claim may be asserted or legal or equitable action may brought against Seller or Buyer, Seller shall in no event be liable for damages which exceed an amount which is equal to the total amount paid or payable to Seller by Buyer pursuant to this agreement for the goods which gave rise to the said claim or legal or equitable action. IN NO EVENT SHALL SELLER BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR FOR ANY INDIRECT DAMAGES SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. SELLER MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY. BUYER'S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND SELLER'S SOLE LIABILITY ON ANY CLAIM OR LEGAL OR EQUITABLE ACTION, WHETHER CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL BE LIMITED TO REIMBURSEMENT OF BUYER'S ACTUAL COST OF THE GOODS WHICH GAVE RISE TO THE SAID CLAIM OR LEGAL OR EQUITABLE ACTION; HOWEVER, IN NO EVENT SHALL SELLER BE LIABLE FOR INDEMNIFICATION OF BUYER ON ACCOUNT OF ANY CLAIM OR EQUITABLE ACTION ASSERTED AGAINST BUYER FOR ANY OTHER OR FURTHER DAMAGES WHATSOEVER WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT.

In placing an order, you are accepting all products and merchandise under the terms and conditions written herein. All products and merchandise are sold and will be received “as is” or in the condition they were in at time of production. Any and all warranties of merchandise, whether expressed or implied, are hereby waived and excluded from any transaction. There are no warranties that extend beyond the description implied in the terms and conditions. Damaged products due to cracking or splitting will not be credited if the product is repairable. We are working with solid wood products, and wood breathes, expands, and shifts in different climates and environments. If an item cracks or splits beyond repair, an evaluation will be made and a partial credit or replacement may be issued. Damaged product can often be sold with an above market standard discount while still at a profit for the retailer. The above stated information, as well as any secondary factors that may occur, are taken into account when issuing credits/replacements due to damaged products. Any credits issued will be in the form of a company credit - no refunds are issued.


Buyer must notify seller of any request to return goods before the within 10 working days after delivery later. Acceptance of returns is at the sole discretion of the seller. To be accepted for return, goods must be in "llke new" condition as determined by seller. All returns must be authorized by Seller prior to shipping and an RMA number will be issued which must be written on all boxes returned. No items will be accepted in Sellers warehouse without the RMA form and number on the package. Please email Seller prior to shipping and we will provide return shipping instructions. Returned items must be shipped to Seller within 30 days of receipt.

Returns must be packaged in such a manner as to guarantee product Integrity during return shipping.

Product must be clean and in new condition. If the product has been used or is in poor condition, credit will not be issued and the product will be disposed of.

The cost of the ACTUAL freight charges (both ways) is not refundable and will be deducted from the amount of Buyers refund. Remember, ACTUAL freight may be much higher than the freight quoted you or the freight paid.

20% restocking fee applies on all returned items. 

Canceled Orders

Cancellations are not allowed on custom orders. Cancelled orders of catalog orders will result in a re-stocking fee of 20% of the total order value, as well as any other fees involved with re-routing the container or order. A company credit will be issued for the deposit paid on the order, and the credit can only be used on purchasing items at stocking dealer price from the USA warehouse. Credits cannot be used on a future factory orders. All credits must be used with one year of the time of issue. No refunds will be issued.
